Never Faint

As we look at our lives we realize that there are many occasions where we find ourselves in problems that challenge our faith. Paul in his letter to the Galatians tells the church that they should continue in their “well doing” because they will reap, if they “faint not”. Even when we are faced with many adversities we must be persistent in our faithfulness to God, and faint not.

Continuing with the sermon series on Basics of Salvation today's message revisits the 2nd chapter of the book of Ephesians. Paul's letter at this point has pointed to the completeness of God's work of salvation, and focusses on what can be described as the secondary benefits of the cross: the unity of God's children. In particular Paul looks to the division of the Jews and Gentiles. Christ broke down this partition for a unified kingdom of God.

The Oneness Of God

In continuing to reflect on some of the key teachings in our doctrine today we look at a unique characteristic to the God we worship: His “oneness”. In the Old Testament one of the words used for our Lord God was Jehovah which meant the “self-existent one”. We recognize then how different it is in this world to put all of our affection, devotion, and energy into one entity, and that doing so is the right way of worship for the One True, and living God, the self-existent one, Jehovah.

Jerusalem Our Mother

On the day we celebrate our mothers our minds are turned to a verse in Galatians chapter 4 that states: "Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all." Today we focus on the fact that we have another "mother" other than our natural ones which is found in God. This spiritual "mother" is a testament to the freedom found only in Jesus Christ.

The God I Didn’t Create

Love Of Christ

Youth In The Church

Conversion

The Resurrection

Welcome To The Kingdom Part 3

To conclude the series on the Kingdom of God we look to the final stage of the child of God’s entering into the Kingdom. In this stage we must understand that the purpose of the child of God’s healing, and identity is not just for the child of God, but for everyone child of God around them. Ephesians tells us that we were created for good works. Our new identity is in the new creation Christ made in us through the new birth. We then realize that we are not here for our own self gratification, but to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this world.

Welcome To The Kingdom Part 2

In continuing our series on the Kingdom Of God we look to the next stage in a child of God’s entering into the Kingdom. After a child of God finds refuge, and healing in the Kingdom we must then find our identity that is in and only in Jesus Christ in His Kingdom. We find that in the first sermon Jesus preached, the Sermon on the Mount, He continually returns the hearer to the “heart” of the issue.

Welcome To The Kingdom

Welcome to the Kingdom! As children of God we are called to live in a place called “The Kingdom Of God”. The Kingdom of God can simply be classified as the place where the King reigns. To be fully involved in the Kingdom of God here in this world is something that every child of God must strive to enter into. The first step to this entering in is recognizing that the Kingdom of God is a place of refuge, and a place of healing.

2 Covenants

In Galatians we have reference to two women: Hagar and Sarah. These two women are referenced as an allegory to the covenant of the law service, and the covenant of grace. In our Christian walks we must remember that we are children of the free woman, Sarah, and the covenant of grace, and that because of this all praise goes to God leaving nothing for man.

Identity In Christ

Our redemption was necessary for us to enjoy fellowship once again with the Father. It was also necessary for our "near kinsmen" to redeem us. In Christ alone we find our near kinsmen who was able to achieve our redemption.

What Is Belief?
